Our Mission:

 “Fringe Shanghai” is an open platform providing an opportunity to emerging Chinese and international artists to present cutting-edge; experimental and visionary artistic works which are not necessarily commercially viable.

 

 

Our Objectives:
• To support up-and-coming artists in presenting their innovative or non-mainstream works;
• To present the Shanghai premiere of international avant-garde arts;
• To serve as a platform of exchange for artists, arts practitioners and audiences;
• To provide an opportunity for a frank and open discussion of what constitutes artistic excellence;
• To lay the foundation for the development and growth of a vibrant art scene that matches the overall economic growth of Shanghai;
• To contribute to putting Shanghai on the international cultural map;
• To offer more opportunities for young arts administrators and technicians to gain practical experience.
