A Blindfolded Journey Allowing You to “See” in a New Way
The Touch Art Workshop was an eye-opening experience for the blindfolded students! Professor Yohei Nishimura led the participants on a journey of self-discovery, asking them to follow their hearts and create their very own pottery piece. This Workshop enhanced their tactile perception and allowed them to sculpt their sensual experience in clay.

Professor Nishimura is one of Japan’s leading ceramic sculptors whose works are in the permanent collections of famous museums like The Museum of Decorative Arts (Paris), The Victoria & Albert Museum (London), and The National Museum of Modern Art Tokyo. For over 20 years, he has been a pioneer in art education for blind children. Nishimura is currently a professor at Japan Women’s University.
