Visual Arts in 2006

¡°Nao Mang¡±¡ªEmerging Artists Exhibition
¡°Nao Mang¡± is a pop art exhibition by a group of Shanghai designers and artists born in the 1980s. Unlike those born in the 90s, this group grew up without the internet and other digital gadgets. A doll, a lollipop or a call from a friend was enough to make them happy. More than 20 of these artists have expressed their views of life in an amazing collection of designs, images and installations, ranging from sketches to graffiti, photography and multi-media.

¡°The City as Visual Puzzle¡±
¡ªHong Kong Pop Art Exhibition
We live in a world of moving images, a bombardment of graphics, photos, illustrations, comics, CD covers, animation, icons, symbols and signs. Pop culture has truly gone visual. What you see is what you get. Six pop artists from Hong Kong¡ªCarrie Chau, Ivan Chan, Tat Tat Wing, Mr Clement, Kary Kwok and Tim Leung¡ªcreate a visual jigsaw of their heavily commercialized city using the massive amount of works they have created in recent years.
