"Fringe Shanghai 2006" Pick of the Fringe

STOP¡
GO-ON Productions/Nadine Thouin

Internationally acclaimed for her boldness and creativity, Montrealer Nadine Thouin returns to Shanghai with Stop¡a semi-autobiographical account of her 26 year trail-blazing career. In this piece, Thouin's body is hard-wired to some invisible but potent power source. Audiences get a chance to zoom closer to her throbbing heart through a camera lens that stares into her eyes, slides down her throat, feels her guts. Thouin is truly something to behold.
(Modern Dance)

I, Claudia
Elisa Moolecherry

I, Claudia is an extremely poignant play, laying bare the soul of the child who lives in each of us. Award winning Canadian director Paul Lampert tenderly explores the consequences of adult blunders on the psyche of a young girl, Claudia. Veteran stage and screen actress Elisa Moolecherry skilfully plays out multiple perspectives in a series of amazing character portrayals centered on the figure of young Claudia¡ªa child coming to terms with some of life's harsh realities. I, Claudia is considered one of Canada's best new classics of recent years.
